Bikeable Communities = Livable Communities

How easily and safely we’re able to get from one place to another has a major effect on our quality of life. Livable communities provide their residents with transportation options that connect people to social activities, economic opportunities, and medical care, and offer convenient, healthy, accessible, and low-cost alternatives to driving.

Did you know that about 80% of the world’s population can afford a bike but only 10% can afford a car? This is why communities that make biking a safe and easy option for residents are basically more livable for everyone. Prioritizing safe and effective active transportation options not only help residents get where they need to go, but also help them enjoy a more active lifestyle.
